The floating tarpon line features a short, forward taper and a hard, smooth tropical coating on a monofilament core.
RIOs tarpon fly lines will cast heavy tarpon flies long distances with accuracy and great turnover. The floating tarpon lines, with AgentX, are higher floating and easier to pick up off the water for a second shot. Also available is a Clouser taper floating line with a 9.5 ft AquaLux clear intermediate sinking tip to get the fly deeper. It is the best line to use in heavy wind to turn over the fly when other brands fail. Another useful tarpon line with the Clouser taper is the green tint Full Intermediate with a 9.5 ft AquaLux tip (1.5 ips .7 cm/s). The Full Intermediate is the favored line in Homosassa and Australia, sinking down to put the fly in front of fish that are laid up deeper in the water column. All tarpon lines feature welded loops on both ends for easy rigging.
